Everyone is invited to come out and explore the Hetzel Refuge in Middlebury. The Hetzel is a pristine wooded refuge of 66 acres and offers prime observation areas for both birds and animals. The guided hike by Beth Lyons and John Cavallaro traverses woodlands, hayfields, conifer plantations, swamps, and several man-made ponds, all of which provide a haven for wildlife. The hike is a moderate, 60 minutes, 1.5-mile loop.
